Copying versions into a directory

The latest or older versions of a component can be checked out by clicking on Copy version to directory. The selected version is copied to the component's working directory or to an empty directory of your choice.

  1. Open the Home tab. In the Project tree, select a component.
  2. In Change history, select the version that you want to copy. It does not matter whether the version exists locally or not, because the version is copied from the server archive.
  3. Then click on Copy version to directory.
  4. The dialog Copy version to directory will then be displayed in which the working directory of the component has been pre-selected as the target directory.
    1. If you select the working directory as target directory and this directory is empty, the version will then be copied directly into the directory.
    2. If the working directory is not empty, you have the following options:
Delete the content, then copy: The data in the working directory is deleted and then the files from the selected versions are inserted.
Replace and copy: The data in the working directory will be replaced with the files from the selected version and new available files will be inserted.
The feature replace and copy behaves differently depending on the data type. For more information, see the corresponding device and software tutorial.
    3. If you want to select a different directory, click on Browse.... You can only select an empty directory as the target.
  5. Click on Next to continue the process.
