Server Installation

This tutorial contains information on installing, moving, and uninstalling a versiondog server.

To install versiondog, you will need to ensure that the hardware and software requirements listed in the tutorial Installation Requirements have been met. If these requirements are not met, the product cannot be installed properly.

A basic knowledge on the structure of the versiondog system and knowledge in the area of system administration is required.

This documentation is based on server installation for individual server systems. Parallel servers must be set up separately. For more information, see Setting up a parallel server system.

FAQ: Installation of versiondog server fails. What could be the reason for this?

If the setup routine runs smoothly at first, but then stops at a certain point and eventually fails, it's probably because of your antivirus program.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Disable the antivirus program on the computer where versiondog is to be installed.

  2. Execute the installation.

  3. Activate the antivirus program after the installation is complete.

If you want to create an exception for the installation of versiondog instead of disabling your antivirus program, ask us for a list of services and processes.
