Licensing

You will require a valid licence to operate the versiondog system. This can be a regular purchased license or a 30-day trial license for a pilot installation. In either case, you will receive your versiondog license in the form of a file named licence.bin or license.json. During the initial installation, you will be asked to specify where you want to save the file.

Once you have reached the maximum amount of clients that you ordered, you will need to obtain a new license.

If you click on Licencing, the Licencing window will be displayed. This consists of three tabs:

Information

This tab is selected as the default tab when you open the Licencing window. It shows you all important data related to your versiondog license.

Activation

Activation shows your versiondog system ID. It is installed on your server and is unique to your versiondog installation.

Under normal circumstances, you will need to activate versiondog within 30 days.

After versiondog has been successfully installed and configured, proceed as follows:

  1. Copy the System ID, by clicking on Copy to clipboard to add it to an email or click on Send by email to email it directly to AUVESY.
  2. You will then receive the activation code for your license.
  3. Please copy the activation code into the field Activation code.
  4. Click on Activate
  5. Your versiondog licence is now activated.

If you have any questions regarding licensing and activation, please contact us.

  1. Enter the path to the license or select where you want to save the file by using the menu.
  2. Then click on Update.
  3. Your versiondog license is now activated.

FAQ: Some time ago I requested and received a license file (licence.bin or license.json). The file was saved properly, but remained unused for some time. When trying to re-license versiondog using the said file, an error message is now displayed stating that the selected versiondog license has expired. How is this possible?

The license file is expired!

A versiondog license file must be used within 180 days from the day it was generated. Once 180 days have passed the license file is disabled, which means it is no longer possible to install versiondog with this file.

If you wish to reactivate your versiondog applications, please contact support to request a new license file.
